A "HEMANGIMOMA!"

Well, our 2nd anesthesia lab went great! I thought the IA shot was the hardest to do so far out of the ones we've learned. I feel bad i bumped into melissa's bone so i had to reposition. It's so wild to me that we can just swing that needle around while it's buried an inch into the tissue! Anyway, i think these mandibular injections burned more than the last ones. Melissa gave me my first "hemangimoma!" ha ha ha Actually, i think the real word for it is hematoma! No biggie though. I don't even think it felt different that what's normal. It was weird to see the blood pool up so fast! But, melissa did great....Steady hands!!

Lucky!!! I never got to see one in school. No one ever got one- we were always crossing our fingers!!:) Isn't t fun!! You learn more and more tricks as you do it more!! I just learned one today. The IA usually hurts the most when you inject necause the anesthetic burns when it has epi! So my doc uses citanest plain to do the initial IA and then follows up with septacaine. So i tried it today and no flinch or pain at all. It was great! And don't worry about hitting bone, it happens!! :) Hope things are great! Tell all hi!!! How cool! Did it hurt?

What a great picture! Now I can remember it forever! You're so funny! Thanks for being such a great sport about letting me fish around in your tissue! You're the best!

LOL at the picture. You'll learn all sorts of tricks after school. It's amazing how private practice lets you think outside of the box. For example, I have never used a long needle for the IA since the anesthesia board. Ok..now pick up your jaw off of the floor. I know this is a huge no-no in school. I penetrate the short needle 3/4 the way and have never had inadequate anesthesia. My boss taught me and patients don't freak out as much.
