You're gonna put that WHERE?!?!?!?
So, Friday was our first anesthesia lab and i had been anxiously anticipating it since we first started school---last year! I had never had a shot in the mouth before. Last year my peer pal asked me to be her board pt for anesthesia. I was a little hesitant to say yes because i didn't want the shots, but i'm glad i did just to know what to expect for boards. Too bad we can't do that for clinic boards as well!
Anywho, yesterday wasn't as bad as i thought it would be. It's one thing to get a shot from a licensed professional, but to have another student pointing that needle in your mouth for their very first time was a little nerving! HA HA HA...Melissa, you did GREAT! It wasn't bad at ALL! I think it's nice to practice and only have to get like 2 drops of anesthesia injected...less painful and shorter duration! I couldn't stand the feeling of being numb! And on the other side of it--giving an injection for my very first time was not bad at all (maybe melissa has more to say on that)! I was a little nervous at first, but Prof. McCaunaghey was helping me and she made it seem so easy! I was grateful for her help and i felt pretty calm! I actually really liked giving the injections. Hopefully it will just get easier with more practice! Meliss, thanks for being so brave for me!

Jami--were you really nervous with me being the one to "shoot you up"? ha ha ha. You had hands the most steady hands. I couldn't believe how good you were. It seemed like you had given a million injections before! You did such a good job. I was glad that our first day went so smooth--even though I was numb until 7:00 that night! (just kiddin') Hopefully the rest of the injections will be just as good as the first! I can't wait to give you the IA. I know that you can open wide--Brett told me! ha ha ha See ya tomorrow!
